Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Skopje invite you to the promotion of the book "Golem Grad Prespa I", by the author Acad. Vera Bitrakova Grozdanov
The promotion will be held on April 11 (wednesday), in the conference hall at the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, starting at 11.00 AM. Promotors of the book will be Prof. D-r Dragi Mitrevski and Prof. D-r Elica Maneva.
From the foreword:
The long term excavations on Golem Grad island started as early as 1967, when the Prespa region was an administrative part of the Ohrid municipality. As curators in the Ohrid museum, professor Cvetan Grozdanov and I conducted surveys at the eastern and western part of the lake in 1966. Our first visit to Golem Grad Island was especially interesting.
The team at that time also included the journalist Mr. Kire Jonoski, who accompanied us and insisted that we see the ruins on the island. The island, because of its natural wealth, looked like an insert of a surreal world. The forest and the other vegetation covered a large number of buildings that were hardly visible in the greenery. Then, we made a decision to research the mysterious island...
